Tai'an develops in all-round way over past decade

Tai'an has made significant improvements in various aspects including economic and social development, cultural preservation, and environmental protection in the past decade, according to a press conference held on Sept 17.

In the past decade, Tai'an has been bolstering its efforts to transfer old growth drivers into to new ones. It has cultivated 15 national-level manufacturing champions, achieved an added value of 150.28 billion yuan ($21.55 billion) in the service industry, and received 6.7 times more high-tech enterprises.

Tai'an has eight industrial clusters included in the provincial "flying geese" industrial clusters, and established six industrial clusters included in the provincial characteristic industrial clusters in the past 10 years.

Tai'an has been beefing up its efforts to promote regional coordinated development with its urbanization rate of the permanent population reaching 64.8 percent, which was 13.2 percentage points higher than that in 2012.

In the past 10 years, Tai'an has improved people's livelihood and successfully alleviated poverty. The per capita disposable income of urban residents and rural residents in 2021 reached 41,741 yuan and 21,769 yuan, respectively, with an average annual growth rate of 7.5 percent and 9.5 percent.

Tai'an has developed itself into a national civilized city in the past decade and has boosted development in culture, tourism, and cultural relics protection.

In terms of environmental protection, Tai'an has received honors such as a national water ecological civilization city, China's most ecologically competitive city, and was selected as one of China's top 10 beautiful cities.
