Tai'an boosts digital economy development

Tai'an in Shandong province ranked fourth in terms of digital industry clustering among 16 cities in the province, according to a list on 16 cities' dynamic development in the digital economy.

This year, Tai'an has been stepping up its efforts to develop the digital economy. To date, the city's digital economy companies include one State-level "little giant" company, 24 national high-tech companies, 17 provincial-level "little giant" companies, seven gazelle companies (high-growth companies), and eight projects that were listed as provincial key economic projects.

Tai'an is home to 37 digital economy companies above designated size, including 21 companies in hardware manufacturing and 16 companies in sectors such as software development. In the first half of this year, the revenue of these 37 companies increased 40 percent year-on-year.

Tai'an plans to continue to develop its digital economy by measures like adopting an integrated development mode of hardware, software, and a platform to enhance competitiveness.

By 2025, Tai'an is anticipated to achieve breakthroughs in the development of the digital economy, including the main business income of companies above designated size exceeding 20 billion yuan ($2.95 billion), cultivating 80 companies above designated size, with one having a revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan, two with revenues exceeding 5 billion yuan, and five with revenues exceeding 2 billion yuan, as well as other achievements.
