The 2022 authentic large-scale performance of a grand ceremony of ancient emperors' worshiping heaven and earth took place in a theater at the Tianzhu Peak scenic area, east of Mount Tai in Tai'an, Shandong province, on July 9.
The performance is the only authentic large-scale performance in China that symbolizes Mount Tai's worship culture and shows China's 5,000-year history.
During the 80-minute performance, performers depict six emperors from the Qin (221-206 BC), Han (206 BC-AD 24), Tang (618-907), Song (960-1279), and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties carrying out a traditional blessing and worship ceremony atop Mount Tai.
The show has drawn a total of six million spectators since it was originally presented in 2010, and it has emerged as Shandong province's top nighttime tourism event.
According to a manager from the performance company, this year's show will expand live interactions with the audience and deliver a fresh visual impact and cultural feast to the audience.
