Oriental white storks spotted in Tai'an
A flock of oriental white storks were spotted in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province by a member of Mount Tai Bird-loving Association on Nov 22.
One of the birds was tagged with a ring bearing the number 083. Bird experts have identified the bird as having come from Russia's Amur region.
Mount Tai's sound ecological environment, abundant food resources and comfortable climate have made it a popular migratory stop for oriental white storks during the winter months.
Oriental storks are large white wading birds with black bills, white feather as well as red feet and legs. They live around wetlands, marshes and pools and feed on fish, frogs and insects. [Photo/WeChat account: hitaishan]
