Alibaba digital village origin warehouse a boom for Feicheng
Alibaba Group's first digital village origin warehouse in Shandong province recently celebrated its first month of operating, with the Feicheng (Tai'an) warehouse bringing significant profits to more than 50 e-commerce companies.
Shandong Taizhiyuan Company has enjoyed record high sales of its honey products since it has settled in the warehouse, with its orders soaring from more than 400 to more than 3,000 per day, said Wang Jian, the company's sales manager.
As a digital village demonstration project jointly run by the Alibaba digital village team and the Feicheng municipal government, the warehouse is aiming to improve the development of rural industries by promoting public services and accelerating resource integration.
Upon its full completion, the warehouse will span a planned area of about 4,000 square meters, with its order processing capacity reaching 20,000 orders per day.
In 2020, the online sales of products in Feicheng reached about 640 million yuan ($95 million), with its sales of peach wooden items ranking first in Shandong and its sales of carving products ranking third.
More than 70 companies will settle in the warehouse by the end of 2021, with the sales volume expected to reach 250 million yuan per month.
