Shandong short-track speed skating held in Tai'an
The Shandong short-track speed skating championship was held at Taishan Ice and Snow Sports Center in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province from July 28 to 30.
More than 130 athletes from seven cities in Shandong participated in the competition, including those from Jinan, Qingdao, Tai'an, Yantai, Zibo, and Linyi.
The event consisted of relay races in the men's and women's 500 meters, 1,000 meters, and 3,000 meters, as well as individual races in the men's and women's 500 meters and 1,000 meters.
Skaters from Tai'an won second place in the 500 meters men's group competition and fifth place in the 1,000 meters men's group competition.
In recent years, Tai'an has made great efforts in promoting ice sports. Taishan Ice and Snow Sports Center, which was put into use last year, has an 1,800-square-meter ice rink. It is the only rink that meets international standards in the city.
The center can undertake domestic and foreign large-scale ice events, including those for short track speed skating and figure skating.
