Poverty alleviation efforts pay off in Daolang town, Tai'an

Daolang town in Daiyue district, Tai’an, Shandong province has been making efforts to lift local villagers out of poverty.

The town has invested 10.16 million yuan ($1.46 million) in special funds for poverty alleviation, as well as developed 26 industrial projects focusing on featured planting, photovoltaic power generation, and rural tourism.

The total income of the projects has reached 950,000 yuan, benefiting 121 poverty-stricken households and 239 people.

A total of 15 projects have been carried out to help improve public infrastructure, including building cultural squares and parking lots, as well as renovating roads.

The town has focused on developing ecological agriculture and all-for-one tourism integrating its folk culture and rural landscape.

The local government has established four ecological agriculture greenhouses to develop fruit-picking and farm tourism, which have generated annual income of 90,000 yuan, as well as helped 10 villages, 53 impoverished households, and 102 impoverished people increase their incomes and lift themselves out of poverty.
