The story between celebrities and Mount Tai starts from Confucius, the prestigious politician, thinker, educationist and writer in ancient China.

He left rich historical monuments through his activities around the Mountain, climbing up the mountain to write great poems, offering sacrifices to Heaven on the mountain top, learning etiquettes, perceiving ordinary people's life and observing current affairs.

History of Mount Tai in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) writes that "Confucius tops all historical places of interest on Mount Tai",  which extends the cultural connotation of Mount Tai and carries forward Confucianism through the great mountain image.

Confucius initiated celebrities climbing up Mount Tai and was followed by others because of his significance in history. "Climbing Mount Tai to broaden your vision" becomes an indispensible mission for men of letters and celebrities in following dynasties, forming a profound cultural convention and a traditional cultural event.
