A special festival in Dongping is the culture of the Outlaws of the Marsh festival, which is held in late September each year.

The 30-day festival features an opening ceremony of the culture tour, Baifo mountain climbing, interview and photo shooting tour of Dongping, networking party attended by hundreds of travel agencies, marshal art invitation competition, exhibition on the paintings and calligraphies portraying the outlaws of the marsh, Dongping investment and cooperation talks.
