Tai'an introduces itself to the world
Around 50 distinguished foreign guests who attended the first World Conference on Tourism for Development in Beijing visited Tai'an, Shandong on May 21, reported the Tai'an Daily.
The city’s long history and profound culture were embodied in the performances of Tai'an's traditional instruments, dances, Tai'an shadow plays, tai chi and tea ceremonies put on for the guests.
Tai'an mayor Wang Yunpeng said Tai'an is striving to develop into a famous international tourist destination. It aims to strengthen cultural exchange, drive economic development and deepen international cooperation on the basis of the tourism industry.
Local authorities have invited travel missions from South Korea, Japan, Germany, Hungary, India, Taiwan and Hong Kong in hopes of expanding the overseas market.
