Cultural achievements endorse Shandong to the world at ICIF
Shandong province attracted great praise at the 12th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), which concluded on May 16.
It is the seventh time for Shandong to appear at the national-level fair, which is aimed at building a trade platform for China's cultural industrial products to the rest of the world.
Shandong's exhibition area, entitled "Qilu culture, spread worldwide", was split into three sections presenting the province's achievements in foreign culture exchange and projects that integrate culture with other industries, such as technology, finance and tourism.
Visitors were able to experience some of the treasures and iconic cultural landmarks of Shandong province, such as the area's unique Confucius Culture and Nishan bookstores, which were promoted on a recent world tour. Popular TV soap operas produced in the region were also played for visitors to enjoy.
An entire area was devoted to books published in Shandong which have not only been distributed throughout China but internationally as well.
Shandong also prepared interactive displays for visitors, using audio and visual technology to project a vibrant image of the province, where guests could read passages from local books or scan QR codes to quick browse whatever they'd like to know about the area.
In recent years, Shandong province has increased efforts to promote its unique cultural heritage, holding events and promotions in 173 countries across the globe, bringing in foreign trade of 34.67 billion yuan ($5.3 billion).
