Shandong province achieved a great deal in deepening culture structural reform and accelerating the development of its cultural industry in 2015. Here are the top 10 news items about Shandong's culture in 2015.

Shandong promotes traditional Chinese culture

Shandong strived to promote traditional Chinese culture in many ways in 2015. It made plans to promote the province's rich culture to overseas audiences by holding such cultural exchange activities as martial arts and acrobatics performances. It held the 10th Shandong Cultural and Art Festival in Jinan City on Oct 9, and it also has established a system on how to spread Confucian and Mencian thought.

Shandong adamant to protect intangible cultural heritages

Shandong leads efforts to build modern public cultural services

Shandong announced plans to set up a modern public cultural service system that covers both the urban and rural areas by 2020 as required by an official document issued by the General Office of Shandong Province Government on June 5.

The Shandong Department of Culture has done much for the welfare of the masses, such as supporting 1,000 inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, bringing nearly 10,000 free performances to rural areas, and giving free trainings to 20,000 square dance instructors.
