Scenic areas in Qingdao West Coast New Area (WCNA) have gradually resumed operation as the COVID-19 epidemic fades in East China's Shandong province, according to news released by the area's culture and tourism department.

Indoor cultural sites, such as cultural centers, museums, and libraries, reopened to the public on April 5 after closely implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures, including limiting visitor numbers and creating staggered shifts and reservation systems. Tourist attractions are only allowed to receive half of their maximum capacity of visitors.

The local culture and tourist department pushed businesses to improve their products and launch online and offline activities to promote its themed tour routes, which include floral appreciation and vacationing.

Every spring, the blooming azalea blossoms make Dazhu Mountain Scenic Area, which is known for blooming flowers, deep valleys, gorgeous peaks and rocks, a popular tourist attraction. To guarantee the safety and health of visitors, the picturesque region strictly regulates the number of visitors and employs staggered shifts and reservation procedures.

The area's culture and tourist department has also looked into new ways to support the development of the culture and tourism industries, including hosting a variety of activities online to enrich people's lives while avoiding cross-infection.
