Every November, the swans fly from Siberia and Mongolia to Rongcheng for the winter. They then fly back north in March.

The local government has well prepared for the whooper swans' arrival in advance, with large scales of zostera and rye having been planted to welcome them.

"After the arrival of the first three swans on Oct 12, more than 130 swans have arrived here," said a staff member of the nature reserve.

Every winter the swans attract multiple visitors including amateur and professional photographers from home and abroad, bringing boundless vitality and vigor to the local tourism industry.
