Moon worship ceremony held in Jinan for Mid-Autumn Festival
A moon worship ceremony was held in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province on Sept 21 for Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
The event which took place at "Impression Jinan Spring World" commercial block, included a series of performances, focusing on the city's traditional Song Dynasty (960-1279) culture and its two famous poets – Xin Qiji (1140-1207) and Li Qingzhao (1084-1155).
The shows featured traditional music, dances and recitation and other artistic techniques, highlighting the two poets' deep love for the country and the charm of their poems.
In one scene, performers in traditional clothes offered the "moon god" grains, fruit and moon cakes, praying for good fortune and harvest next year.
