Yantai hosts events for CPC centenary celebrations

A series of events will be held in Yantai, East China's Shandong province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, according to a news conference held on June 28 by the city's culture and tourism bureau.
Peking opera performances themed around the CPC's history will be staged to promote Yantai's historical culture. The city will host the closing ceremony of the 12th Shandong Culture and Art Festival where five outstanding shows will be performed, covering Peking Opera, Lyu Opera, and Shandong bangzi.
From March to September, the city is launching 10 red cultural serial events and each has 100 activities, covering tourism, exhibitions, films, poetry recitation, intangible cultural heritages, as well as performances. To date, more than 860 activities have been held.
Yantai has released a number of red tourism routes covering memorial halls and research bases to promote the protection of revolutionary cultural relics. The city also teamed with Qingdao, Weifang, Rizhao, and Weihai to host an exhibition featuring revolutionary relics.
