The 38th Weifang International Kite Festival kicked off on April 16, with thousands of enthusiasts flocking to the city's Binhai Economic and Technological Development Zone to fly kites.

Since its inception in 1984, the festival has grown into one of the largest kite-flying events in the world. While serving as a platform to boost international economic and cultural cooperation, the festival also increases Weifang's global exposure and helps more and more Weifang-made kites go global.
