Traditional dragon-head centipede kite to dazzle Weifang festival
Through the combined efforts of over 20 craftsmen, the world's largest dragon-head centipede kite will make its debut at the upcoming 38th Weifang International Kite Festival.
The 280-meter-long giant kite features a dragon head that measures 4.2 m in height and 3.6 m in width.
The dragon is an auspicious creature that symbolizes strength and wisdom in Chinese culture. The dragon-head centipede kite is representative of Weifang's traditional hand-made kites and is listed as a national intangible cultural heritage item.
The 38th Weifang International Kite Festival is set to open on April 17 in Weifang, which is also known as the World Kite Capital.
