Shandong, with its long history and rich cultural heritage resources, is an important cradle of Chinese civilization and the birthplace of Confucius.

According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate on matters including Shandong's cultural heritage protection and development strategy for the next ten years, regional cultural heritage protection planning, world cultural heritage declaration and management, and major cultural heritage protection projects.
