The 2019 Taishan International Photography Art Week began on Nov 1 in Tai'an, Shandong province, gathering photographers and photography enthusiasts from around the world.

"The photography week will showcase China's rich and diverse culture, green natural environment, and touching moments in daily life," said Zheng Gengsheng, an official from the China Photographers Association.

"One themed photo exhibition has received more than 4,000 photographs showcasing Tai'an's beautiful landscapes and society," Zheng said.

"The charm of photography lies in its spontaneity and realism, and it is also a way for photographers to express themselves," said Wang Shinong, an official from the Shandong Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

"The photography week, which is themed on Mount Tai, will make full use of the unique art form to display the majestic mountains and vibrant and diverse culture of Shandong."

Francois, a photographer from Canada, said that the photography week offers a fresh perspective on Shandong.

"Photographers use images to illustrate the inclusive spirit of Mount Tai and the fearlessness of those who work on the mountain."

Zhang Tao, mayor of Tai'an, said that this photography week uses vivid and intuitive images to tell the story of China's Mount Tai and illustrate the social changes Tai'an has undergone. It will help raise the city's international profile and promote international cultural exchanges.

The photography week, jointly held by the China Photographers Association, the Shandong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Tai'an municipal government, consists of a series of photography exhibitions.
