Exhibition highlights achievements of Qingdao over 70 years
The eastern coastal city of Qingdao in Shandong province is hosting a large-scale exhibition highlighting the city's achievements over the past seven decades, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
About 595 photos, 216 material objects and 20 videos are being exhibited, paying homage to the profound and memorable moments of Shandong's remarkable development from 1949 to 2019.
Jointly organized by the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and the Qingdao municipal government, the exhibition consists of three parts in terms of timelines, covering a total area of 3,700 square meters.
The first part exhibits the major changes that Qingdao experienced from 1949 to 1978 through old photos, documents and antique objects -- such as old furniture, old-fashioned household appliances and home decorations.
Visitors can learn about the city's changes after the reform and opening-up at the second part of the exhibition.
The third section shows Qingdao's rapid development from 2012 to 2019 and its scientific and technological achievements.
In addition, nine interactive experience areas are also available for visitors to take selfies, participate in knowledge quizzes or driving simulations for a high-speed train.
The exhibition will last until Oct 31.
