The exhibition, Confucius' Hometown - Beautiful Shandong, featured 60 images capturing natural landscapes of the Eastern Chinese province, including world heritage sites, such as Taishan Mountain and the Grand Canal.
Chen Shuang, head of the Chinese cultural center, said that Shandong is the hometown of Confucius (the ancient Chinese philosopher) and the birthplace of China's Confucian culture, which cherishes the beauty of harmony between man and nature. He also invited locals to travel in Shandong to experience its unique charm.
At the event's opening on Sept 25, artists from Shandong and Chinese artists living in Sydney demonstrated Chinese painting and calligraphy on site.
