The 13th National Art Exhibition's artistic design section opened at the Art Gallery of the Shandong University of Art & Design on Sept 6 in Jinan, capital city of Shandong province.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Artists Association, the Exhibition of Artistic Design Works is jointly held by the Shandong publicity department, the Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism, and the Shandong Literature and Art Association. It will run for two months.

The exhibition is also being held to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

After several rounds of selection, a total of 495 sets of works are on exhibition, which consists of six categories including graphic art design, industrial art design, fashion art design, environmental art design, and architectural art design.

The category of architectural art design has been included in the exhibition for the first time, displaying rich and dazzling works ranging from urban residential construction, rural dwellings, and reconstruction of traditional villages to highlights of Chinese traditional architecture.

The 13th National Art Exhibition's Chinese painting section will also be held in Shandong province. It will open on Sept 26 at the Shandong Art Museum, lasting for a month.
