Shandong hosts provincial youth painting and calligraphy competition
A wave of excellent artworks embodying the spiritual outlook and creativity of teenagers and even younger artists emerged in the recently completed sixth Shandong provincial youth painting and calligraphy competition.
Jointly organized by the Organizing Committee of the Shandong Arts Proficiency Grading Test and the Shandong Provincial Culture Center, the competition received 1059 entries, including oil paintings, gouaches, sketches, traditional Chinese paintings, cartoons and calligraphy works.
According to the organizing committee, the competition helped to stimulate youth's interest in art, formulated quality criteria and assessment modes for art teaching, and promoted the province's arts proficiency grading system.
