Japanese machinery and parts manufacturer Right Mfg's medical equipment arm Right Precision (Qingdao) officially started production on Sept 13.
The $17.5 million facility is the first Japanese-owned medical company in the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The new facility specializes in the design, development and manufacturing of CT machine components, fundus examination equipment, optical equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and medical imaging equipment.
Right Precision (Qingdao) is expected to generate 200 million yuan ($27.4 million) in sales every year and hire about 90 people.
Founded in 1947, Right Mfg specializes in the manufacturing of medical equipment, semiconductor equipment and FPD. The accuracy of the ophthalmic instruments developed and produced by the company is currently ranked top in the world. The company also uses mechatronics technology in the field of product manufacturing and processing.
