The China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area, or Qingdao FTZ, which serves as a pilot area for reform and innovation, launched 125 new innovative practices in 2022, according to official statistics.
The 125 practices included 76 high-quality institutional innovation cases and 39 institutional innovation achievements that have been replicated and promoted in Shandong province, with five of them having been promoted nationwide, according to Zhou Feng, director of Qingdao FTZ's institutional innovation department.
Zhou added that 35 percent of the institutional innovation achievements that Qingdao FTZ has made over the past three years are deemed as "pioneering" in China, which is higher than the national average, making it a pioneer among the 67 areas of the 21 pilot free trade zones in the country.
Recently, 23 institutional innovation achievements from Qingdao FTZ were listed among the 57 institutional innovation achievements to be replicated and promoted in Shandong province. They involve major areas including the marine economy, China-Japan-South Korea regional economic cooperation, the coordinated development of the Yellow River Basin, innovation in the financial field, and trade facilitation.
