The Belt and Road Initiative Steinway International Art Festival was held in the Shinan district in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province on June 21 – as a sideline event of International Music Day being celebrated in the district on the day.

International Music Day – which is held each year globally on June 21 – was originated in France in 1982.

A huge popular music and culture festival, it has been held in 176 cities in China and attracted visits by more than 10 million people since it was introduced to the Chinese mainland in 2016.

It is worth mentioning that among the participants in Shinan, there were more than 20 mentally handicapped young people. When the music began, it seemed that they had found their own inspiration, savoring the charm and joy of the music.
