Jining has made the third national list of cities to become "child-friendly cities", showcasing its commitment to creating a nurturing environment for children.

Over 60 projects with a planned investment of 9.6 billion yuan ($1.33 billion) have been implemented to enhance the city's child-friendly infrastructure. Educational facilities, science and technology venues, and children's parks have already seen significant improvements, with a total investment of 2.18 billion yuan.

Centered on traditional Chinese culture, Jining prioritizes nurturing children throughout their entire growth process. By highlighting enhancements in healthcare services, well-rounded education, childcare amenities, and recreational areas for children, the city seeks to boost the overall quality of child welfare programs.

This belief is encapsulated in the saying "care for the elderly and the children of others as they care for their own", which comes from the Confucian philosopher Mencius (372-289 BC).

Jining's long-standing dedication to child-friendly principles dates back over two thousand years and is rooted in the region's rich cultural heritage. The city has seamlessly integrated traditional values into early childhood education, school programs, and family education practices.

Additionally, Jining has established 57 research and education demonstration bases, including recognized national destinations for research and education tourism, further solidifying its position as a leader in promoting child-friendly initiatives.
