Liangshan, the only county located along the Yellow River in Jining, Shandong province, is fully committed to promoting the ecological protection and high-quality development strategy of the Yellow River Basin.

The county has unveiled measures to improve the ecological environment of the Yellow River Basin in accordance with local conditions, promote the high-quality development of the entire basin, and improve local people's lives.

To solve the development problem facing the Yellow River floodplain area in the county, Liangshan has built a residential relocation community, a home furnishing industrial park and a modern agricultural demonstration zone for the villagers who have been relocated.

A farmer's market, a commercial street, a school, a kindergarten, a clinic, a day care center for the elderly and a community service center have been built in the community where the residents have relocated to provide them with convenience. Two water supply plants and one sewage treatment plant have also been built to serve the community.  

To ensure that relocated residents are gainfully employed, the local government has taken advantage of the rich forest resources in the local beach area to build a home furnishing industry zone with a complete industrial chain. The park, which features deep processing of boards, production of high-end boards, furniture processing, smart home R&D and production, and trade and logistics, has offered around 1,000 jobs. The locals now have a per capita annual income of more than 40,000 yuan ($5,467.16).

The county has been exploring the establishment of an "ecological police sergeant" system for the protection of the Yellow River by sections. A visual and intelligent prevention and control technology system has been formed to protect the Yellow River.

In addition, Liangshan county has strengthened the construction of digital infrastructure and accelerated the development of the county's information technology industry and the deep integration of information technology to speed up the transformation of the manufacturing industry.
