During the recent Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, the 20 major tourist sites in Jining, a city in East China's Shandong province, welcomed 3.47 million visitors and generated a revenue of 174 million yuan ($23.85 million).

According to the local government, the city had launched a series of cultural and tourism events in preparation for the holidays. These events included nighttime explorations, culinary and shopping experiences and entertainment offerings.

Professional theaters along with community-based events held over 300 artistic performances.

To further stimulate market vitality, local authorities distributed cultural tourism vouchers to encourage spending. Some of the city's major tourist attractions also offered free admissions to teachers, Confucius descendants, local university alumni and new students who recited the Analects of Confucius.

Various promotions, including discounted bookings at hotels and innovative stage shows, were also introduced to boost consumption.

To strengthen market supervision and enhance public services, local authorities also bolstered their monitoring and public service mechanisms. Initiatives ranged from safety checks to the launch of a 24-hour "Comfortable Travel in Jining" helpline.
