Jining in East China's Shandong province has been further promoting the development of its cultural tourism industry by rolling out major projects.

One such project is the Luyuan village in Qufu Nishan Mountain Resort. Covering an area of 360,000 square meters, the place will have a cultural tourism district and a resort area. The venue is expected to be completed before Sept 20 and open to the public on Sept 28.

Other places in Jining have also been making the most of their cultural resources and creating cultural tourism projects with local characteristics.

For instance, Huishan county is building a historic cultural block featuring the Grand Canal. This block will feature cultural tours, night markets and performances.

The city has also provided an extra loan of 1.28 billion yuan ($176.31 million) to cultural tourism companies and been upgrading 14 scenic spots across the city.

Li Yanhua, director of the city's culture and tourism bureau, said Jining will continue to roll out new cultural tourism products to contribute to the city’s high-quality development.
