A number of tourist attractions and cultural items in Jining, East China's Shandong province were recently included in a list of "Hospitable Shandong Internet Famous Destinations and Items" released by the Shandong Department of Culture and Tourism.

One hundred destinations, 100 items, and 15 cultural and tourism creation bases in the province were selected from a pool of 3,000 after online voting and expert reviews.

Seven places of interest in Jining, including the Three Confucian Sites in Qufu, the Temple of Mencius, the Mencius Family Mansion, Nishan Sacred Land, the Confucius Museum, as well as the Jining Museum, were conferred the honor.

Six local cultural items, including Jiaxiang stone carvings, Confucius family cuisine, Yutang Pickled vegetables and Three Qufu Treasures of the Study – they refer to stone rubbings, wood sculpture, and Nishan ink stone - were included in the list.

Other destinations on the list include the World's Best Spring Scenic Spot in Jinan, capital of Shandong, Mount Tai in Tai'an, as well as Penglai Pavilion in Yantai.

The 100 items include several intangible cultural heritage items like Dong'e donkey hide gelatin.
