Jining in East China's Shandong province provided a variety of tourism products and attracted a large number of visitors during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7.

In the holiday period, Jining's 25 tourist attractions received 1.88 million visits and generated 74.6 million yuan ($11.6 million) in revenue, equivalent to 100.05 percent and 104.48 percent respectively of the 2019 figures in this period.

A number of cultural venues, such as Jining Museum and the Public Library of Jining, held a wide range of activities like performances, intangible cultural heritage items exhibitions, as well as calligraphy and paintings exhibitions.

The Three Confucian Sites in Qufu, a county-level city in Jining, organized activities where visitors could learn how to make thread-bound books or paper fans. A mixed reality (MR) digital project was also launched in the scenic area on Oct 1 to offer visitors a better experience, which makes the place the world's first attraction that has adopted MR technology.

Nishan Sacred Land, which is also in Qufu, held concerts, firework displays, and UAV shows to entertain visitors.

Villages were also popular destinations during the holiday. Sishui country, which is famous for its rural tourism, received more than 92,000 visits in total.

Discounted tickets were widely offered to seniors, servicemen, teachers, students, and medical staff in attractions including Weishan Lake and the Three Confucian Sites. Several cultural sites, such as the Temple of Duke Zhou, were open to the public for free.
