A modern agricultural industrial park named Huang-Huai-Hai Plain Small Town of Flowers, Fruits, and Vegetables recently opened in Jining, East China's Shandong province. The industrial park is expected to help the city's efforts to bolster its rural economy and increase local farmers' incomes.

Operated by Zhongnong Kangyuan (Beijing) Agricultural Development Co and the Jining-based Linghua Group, the project covers more than 1.33 million square meters of land and has an investment of 75 million yuan ($11.58 million).

It is equipped with dozens of greenhouses of various types, as well as adopts internet of things technology to manage crop planting, control product quality, and monitor market prices. Part of the seeds and technologies used in the farms are provided by China Agricultural University. The industrial park aims to sell its products to high-end markets in the Yangtze River Delta region and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

In order to ensure food safety, the agricultural industrial park works with the Jining government and has established a digital platform to supervise the entire production process.
