Jining in East China's Shandong province had four shows included on a list of excellent folk art works released at the closing ceremony of the province's 12th culture and art festival on July 2, ranking first in the number of award winners.

The four shows consist of a song "China's Path", an instrumental work "The Grand Canal", a Shandong Qinshu performance, which is a traditional narrative music form, and a Shandong Bangzi opera, which is also known as wooden clapper opera.

"China's Path" stood out from among other vocal productions and won first prize. It is comprised of four parts that demonstrate how China has become a prosperous nation through revolutions, reforms, and opening up under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Over the past few years, Jining has been ramping up efforts to foster artistic talents, create outstanding works, as well as organize diverse activities to develop its cultural sector for the public.

The Shandong Culture and Art Festival is the largest and most remowned event of its kind in the province. A large number of acclaimed artists and works have gained fame through the festival.
