Geography
Sishui county is located in mid-southern Shandong province near the southern foot of Taiyi mountains. It's west of Pingyi, east of Qufu, north of Zoucheng, and south of Xintai.
Rihe (Rizhao-Heze) Railway, national road 327, Rihe (Rizhao-Heze) Expressway and national road 034 pass through the county. Rizhao Port, Jingfu (Beijing-Fuzhou) Expressway, and Jining Qufu Airport form a three-dimensional traffic network. The county's highway is 664.5 kilometers long, and its national and provincial highways cover 90 km.
Culture
Sishui county is the birthplace of Sihe culture and has a long history. Sishui was the state of Bianming in the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC), Bianyi city in the Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-256 BC) and Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC). Sishui county was established during the Sui Dynasty (581-618).
Economy
In 2019, the county's GDP reached 20.02 billion yuan ($3.05 billion), up 5.4 percent on comparable prices year-on-year. The added value of the first, second and tertiary sectors were 4.77 billion yuan, 7.11 billion yuan, and 8.14 billion yuan, up 4 percent, 6.7 percent and 4.9 percent. The county's per capita GDP surpassed 36,227 yuan, an increase of 3,164 yuan, up 5.2 percent year-on-year.
