The Yellow River-Mekong River exchange week is scheduled to take place in Dezhou city in East China's Shandong province from Nov 10 to 12, according to a press conference in Dezhou on Nov 7.

The event aims to advance China's strategy of ecological conservation and high-quality development in the Yellow River basin by bringing together regions along the Yellow River and countries along the Mekong River: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. It seeks to enhance the Dezhou's international openness by positioning it as a pivotal city in northern China for connecting with ASEAN countries.

Approximately 200 participants from home and abroad are expected to attend the events, including around 80 foreign guests, who will primarily consist of representatives from Mekong River countries, ASEAN countries' ambassadors to China, representatives from the China-ASEAN Center, business associations of ASEAN countries in China, enterprises, universities, and students studying in China from ASEAN countries.

The exchange week will feature events like an opening ceremony, the Yellow River-Mekong River Dialogue and Trade, Investment Promotion Conference, a dedicated enterprise matchmaking session, academic seminars, local economic and trade cooperation meetings, as well as field trips and inspections.

This event signifies a significant step towards strengthening regional cooperation, fostering economic ties, and promoting cultural exchanges between the Yellow River and Mekong River regions. It also contributes to the broader goal of enhancing collaboration between China and ASEAN nations.
