Weichai Power's Future Technology Test Laboratory was officially launched on April 16 in Weifang, East China's Shandong province. Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Power, unveiled the plaque for the lab at the event.

According to Tan, the official launch of the lab marks a significant milestone in Weichai's leadership in the revolutionary "dual carbon" era of energy, as well as the advancement of Shandong Heavy Industry Group's vehicles and machinery to world-class standards.

The facility represents an investment of over 2 billion yuan ($276 million) and four years of meticulous planning. Spanning an impressive 7,000 square meters of land and boasting a construction area of 28,000 square meters, the lab stands as a symbol of Weichai Power's technological prowess.

Equipped with 46 independent testing laboratories, the facility encompasses a broad spectrum of cutting-edge research domains, including new energy power batteries, fuel cell technology, electric control systems, and lubrication technology. This comprehensive scope positions the lab as the world's largest comprehensive multi-source power testing facility.

The lab's cutting-edge testing equipment, sourced from the pinnacle of global industry standards, amplifies testing precision from a micron-level to a nano-level. This unparalleled capability allows the lab to conduct world-leading testing for three major R&D platforms: vehicle-level and machine-level testing, new energy commercial vehicle power systems, and future technologies.
