The Green and Low-carbon Forum for Local Cooperation and Development, a crucial component of the Sixth China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting, convened on Oct 16 in Yantai, Shandong province.
Over 300 representatives from 12 countries, including local government officials, diplomats, heads of friendly organizations, experts, and scholars, gathered at the forum to discuss cutting-edge topics in the green and low-carbon sectors.
Amidst escalating global environmental challenges, participants emphasized that green and low-carbon development is crucial for the sustainable growth of local economies. By enhancing collaborative efforts, cities in China and Central and Eastern Europe aim to transcend geographical constraints, share resources, complement each other's strengths, and expedite comprehensive green transformations in their economies and societies.
During the case-sharing sessions, representatives from associations and enterprises in Hungary, Romania, and China showcased achievements in green and low-carbon development, focusing on enhancing green productivity, creating and applying green and low-carbon technologies, and promoting coordinated industry development.
Furthermore, the forum unveiled the "Yantai Initiative for China (Shandong) - CEEC Local Green and Low-Carbon Cooperation", urging attendees to bolster the construction of professional international cooperation platforms while enhancing collaboration and exchanges in the green and low-carbon sectors.
