Located in Penglai district, Yantai city, East China's Shandong province, Domaine de Long Dai is one of the eight major wineries worldwide under Domaines Barons de Rothschild.

In 2008, after conducting surveys in various Chinese regions, the French winemaker decided to build a winery in Mulan'gou village in Qiushan Valley. From planting the first vine in 2011 to releasing its first premium wine in 2019, Long Dai has been deeply rooted in the local area for 16 years.

Situated at 37.5 degrees north latitude, Penglai provides an ideal environment for wine grape cultivation. The diverse soil composition, especially in the hilly areas represented by the Qiushan Valley, with its slightly acidic and mineral-rich, well-drained soil, is highly-conducive to grape cultivation.

The wine giant never intended to produce a French-style wine but rather a wine that reflects the local terroir. This commitment is evident not only in the winery's Chinese architectural style but also in their meticulous analysis of soil components to match suitable grape varieties, such as planting Marselan in clay and Cabernet Sauvignon in gravelly soil.

Since its establishment in Yantai, Long Dai has perfectly exemplified the harmonious coexistence of different cultures, becoming a vibrant testament to Sino-French friendship. "I have never regretted establishing Long Dai in Yantai. I have no doubt that it will produce wines that rival those of Lafite," said Baron Eric de Rothschild.
