Yantai opens new flight routes for summer

On March 31, the civil aviation sector nationwide will implement the flight schedule for the summer-autumn flight season. The city of Yantai in Shandong province plans to open eight new routes during the summer-autumn flight season, connecting with five additional cities, including Haikou, Tonghua, Linyi, Nanning, and Hong Kong.
After the changes, the Yantai Penglai International Airport will have 77 operational routes, and 52 cities will have passenger air transport.
In addition to the new routes and destinations mentioned above, the Yantai airport will continue to increase the frequency of flights to major domestic cities such as Chengdu, Xi'an, Wuhan, Hefei, Chongqing, Zhuhai, and Wenzhou and stabilize high-frequency routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Dalian, and Harbin. It will also resume international and regional flights and plans to open international routes to Japan and other countries within the year, further enhancing the coverage and accessibility of Yantai airport's air network.
After the season change, the number of takeoffs and landings at Yantai airport is expected to increase significantly compared to the same period last year. In April, the daily average number of takeoffs and landings is expected to return to 200 to 220 flights, and daily average passenger throughput is expected to reach 22,000.
