Founded in 1958, Yantai Museum is one of the first comprehensive museums established since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is a national first-class museum and boasts one of the richest collections in Shandong province. The museum has qualifications for group archaeological excavation and second-class movable cultural relics restoration. It has a total area of over 25,000 square meters and consists of three branches: the Cultural Center Main Hall, Yantai Folk Museum, and Jiaodong Revolution Memorial Hall.

Yantai Folk Museum is a national key cultural heritage site, covering an area of 3,500 sq m. It is the only existing ancient building complex in the Minnan style in northern China. It is also a folk museum that focuses on showcasing the local customs and culture of Yantai, as well as on promoting the belief in Mazu.

Jiaodong Revolution Memorial Hall covers an area of 5,600 sq m, with an exhibition area of 2,800 sq m. It is a Red cultural venue that comprehensively showcases the modern revolutionary history in Jiaodong. It provides Party members and the public with education regarding the Party's history and national history.
