Yantai in East China's Shandong province will beef up efforts to promote the high-quality development of its wine industry chain this year.
This year is an important year for Yantai to march toward the goal of achieving a GDP of more than 1 trillion yuan ($144.97 billion) mark, with the city focusing on the development of its local industries to achieve its target. Yantai will grasp the favorable opportunities brought by the supply-side structural reform and expanding domestic consumption, aiming to build it into a world famous wine producing region and a famous wine culture city at home and abroad.
According to local authorities, the city will release a slew of supportive measures to promote the healthy development of the wine industry. Ten demonstration parks and high-standard planting bases for grapes will be built in the city.
More efforts will be made to strengthen brand building and support competitive enterprises as they expand to overseas markets. The city will also actively take part in various international wine festivals and expos to deepen international exchanges for wine enterprises.
Yantai will promote the construction of three key areas for wine production. Construction of the first phase of International Wine City and the China Wine National Pavilion will begin this year as part of its efforts to promote the integrated development of the wine and tourism sectors.
