Huang-Bohai New Area in Yantai advances resumption of work, production

With the orderly implementation of the optimized COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, economic activities are gradually getting back on track across the country. The Huang-Bohai New Area in the coastal city of Yantai, Shandong province has accelerated its pace in advancing the resumption of work and production.
According to local authorities, a total of 118 industrial projects with a total investment of 150.2 billion yuan ($21.55 billion) have resumed operations. Currently, 35 projects have been completed and put into operation, and more than 40 are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Shandong Micro-nano Sensing Manufacturing Innovation Center, which is located in the Huang-Bohai New Area, started construction in October, and the construction of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The center plans to generate an annual output value of 2.5 billion yuan after being put into operation.
This year, the Huang-Bohai New Area has started 53 new projects with a combined total investment of 62.4 billion yuan, growing by 33 percent compared with the same period last year. The projects include the second phase of Wanhua Chemical Group's ethylene project, and Walsin Lihwa Corporation's green intelligent manufacturing project. All projects are expediting the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones in Yantai.
