The coastal city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province launched a cultural exchange event in Moscow, Russia to promote traditional Chinese culture, and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on Sept 10 this year.

Yantai boasts beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate, and in recent years, the city has witnessed rapid social and economic development, according to a Russian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Strategic Development Center representative.

He expressed his hope that Yantai can carry out practical cooperation with Russia in more fields to promote broader cultural and person-to-person exchanges between China and Russia.

Artists from both countries gave performances during the event, and organizers launched many colorful cultural activities such as making mooncakes, lantern riddle guessing games, and Yantai paper-cutting, offering attendees a platform to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
