The Yantai Dumpling Festival opened on Dec 19 as a part of the city's New Year celebrations.

The city will host more than 280 activities throughout winter to stimulate consumption and teach people about traditional Chinese culture.

At the opening ceremony for the festival, 50 families tried making dumplings and shared poems and customs related to dumplings. The festival will run until January 20, 2021.
