The Yantai Institute of Nuclear Metrology and Testing was recently registered in the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Area.
It will be China’s first national-level industrial measurement and testing center for the nuclear power equipment industry.
The center costing nearly 100 million yuan ($14.13 million) was jointly established by the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Area Administrative Committee, the Yantai Metrology Institute, and the Graduate School of Haerbin Engineering University.
It will establish five major laboratories for ionizing radiation, instrumentation, power electronics, artificial intelligence, and environmental testing and will make use of high-quality resources to promote the application of scientific research results and cultivate high-end enterprises to drive industrial development.
The center aims to develop itself into an influential testing platform for Chinese nuclear power equipment within three to five years.
