An investment promotional conference was held on May 11 in Yantai, Shandong province, with more than 300 entrepreneurs participating.

The deals for 12 projects covering high-end equipment, new energy and new materials, modern marine, medical and health, as well as modern services, were inked at the conference.

The projects have a combined investment of 21.5 billion yuan ($3.03 billion). The investors are from countries across the globe, including Japan, South Korea and Russia.

During the conference, local officials also introduced the city’s industrial parks –the Sino-Korea (Yantai) Industrial Park, the Sino-Japan Industrial Park and the Yantai International Investment Industrial Park – to global investors via online video.

Founded in 1984, the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone is home to more than 1,700 foreign-invested companies and 88 of the world’s top 500 projects.

With a strong industrial foundation, convenient transportation and comprehensive infrastructure, the area is an ideal choice for overseas entrepreneurs to start their businesses, local officials said.
