Advanced technologies including big data, cloud computing, and AI have been widely used to fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia in Yantai, a coastal city in East China’s Shandong province.
In early February, the city launched a big data platform for epidemic prevention and control.
The platform will list detailed information on confirmed cases, suspected cases, personnel under quarantine, and peoples from outside Yantai.
Up to now, the platform has collected basic information on more than 100,000 people and is providing data support for epidemic prevention and control.

A fever screening system was used in the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Area, with non-contact inspection and automatic alert for novel coronavirus pneumonia control.
To reduce the impact of the school semester's postponement, the Tencent (Yantai) Institute of New Engineering has developed an intelligent online platform offering online courses, student-teacher interaction and assignment correcting services.
The platform has been applied in 40 schools in Muping district, 23 schools in Laishan district, and 31 schools in the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Area.
