Coastal city impresses Wuhan using Peking Opera

The coastal city of Yantai in Shandong province won hearts and minds in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, as the municipal government hosted a high-profile city promotional event on Nov 20.
A Peking Opera art exhibition featuring more than 100 paper-cuttings, dough figurines, paintings, and facial makeup patterns, were staged at the event to showcase Yantai’s traditional culture.
Li Ming, managing deputy director of Yantai municipal publicity department, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony and introduced the images of Yantai city depicting is robust economy and rich history and culture.
The Peking Opera art exhibition aims to deepen cultural and artistic exchange between Wuhan and Yantai and enhance ties between the two, Li said.
The activity will help Wuhan locals to better understand Yantai's traditional culture and arts and expose them to its stunning natural landscapes.
Li Ling, deputy director of Yantai culture and tourism bureau, also promoted Yantai's winter tourism products to Wuhan locals and welcomed them to come enjoy the city’s charming coastal scenery.
As a pearl shining on the eastern Shandong Peninsula, Yantai is home to crystal blue seas, clear skies, golden beaches, stunning islands and fresh seafood and wine.
